WHERE DC COMES TO EAT, DRINK & UNWIND
Tucked into the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 14th Street SE on Capitol Hill, The Roost is a 12,500-square-foot culinary clubhouse and neighborhood gathering place built around a simple idea: life is better when there’s good food, good drink and good people around the table.
Come hungry, bring the family, meet up with friends, grab lunch with a coworker or settle in for the evening and see where the day takes you. Under one roof, you’ll find an eclectic collection of some of DC’s most talented chefs, local makers and independent food and drink concepts, each bringing something different to the table. There’s artisan coffee to start the morning, burgers and cold craft beer, handmade pizza, tacos, sushi, dumplings and noodles, comforting red-sauce Italian, thoughtful wine, playful cocktails and plenty more worth sticking around for.
In other words, there’s no one way to do The Roost. Maybe you’re grabbing a quick bite on the way home. Maybe the kids are hungry and everyone wants something different. Maybe you’re meeting friends for dinner, settling in for a drink or turning “just one round” into an evening. With so many options under one roof, every visit can be a little different, and there’s always a reason to come back.
A FOOD HALL WITH A SENSE OF PLACE
The Roost was created by the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, a DC-based team of passionate restaurant and hospitality professionals with deep roots in the communities we serve. From the beginning, the goal was to create something that felt like more than a collection of places to eat. We wanted to create a place that belonged to the neighborhood—a place where talented chefs and independent businesses could shine, where locals could discover something new, and where friends, families and neighbors could simply spend time together.
That spirit is at the heart of The Roost. It’s an energetic mix of restaurants, bars and food concepts, but it’s also a place where people bump into neighbors, introduce friends to favorite dishes, linger over another drink and become part of the rhythm of the neighborhood. It’s a place designed to welcome a lot of different people, tastes and occasions—and somehow make everyone feel at home.
