Intensely rich and sweet notes of peanuts complemented with whiffs of chocolate, and nicely balanced by warm oak and baking spices. Several of us noted that the liquid reminded us of some of Beam’s finer offerings. Of the four barrels offered to us, the one we ultimately selected was the most dissimilar from the other three. Given how unique the profile was, some of us were convinced it had been the one barrel to have aged in the metal rickhouse, but were surprised to learn it had come from a clay rickhouse.
